Bamboo swabs.
Being so small and light, plastic (and synthetic) cotton swabs end up polluting our oceans way more than we're usually aware of.
They particularly harm seahorses. Which is a tragedy, I know. They're almost impossible to pick up once they've been disposed of, and not to mention... contrary to what we used to think, they're pretty bad for our ears.
But today, I'm not gonna focus on the problem but rather in the solution. In some countries, q-tips are now made out of paper, bamboo and other more eco-friendly materials. The cotton used to manufacture them is natural and not synthetic like in traditional ones. Which is not only good for the planet but good for ourselves as well.
They can be found in more and more places every day, and they can really make a difference when we choose them instead of the plastic ones.
