Working During Summer.
Working all day? During summer? Iβve been there...
Long time ago, when I thought of summer, I used to picture myself having the time of my life (aka, in a hammock with a piΓ±a colada on my hand). But the reality is that, when the time comes, I find myself stuck at work with no way to escape. Sad, huh? I know.
The good news is... there's always a way to not feel like you're wasting your summer sitting down next to Barbara, who doesn't stop complaining about how hot it is. Yes, it's hot AF, Barbara, but that ππΌisππΌawesomeππΌ
It is certainly better than freezing to death.
So, from one summer expert, here are some ways I make myself enjoy this season, even when I spend most of my days stuck in a crazy hispanic agency:
First things first, I don't go anywhere without applying sunscreen.
I make myself a "special summer menu". Some of the items on my list are: watermelon popsicles, açaà bowls, piña coladas, and I create a monthly budget to spend at @jenisicecreams.
Ok, I admit it. I might extend my summer menu to other seasons, but eating/drinking these make me very happy, since they taste like summer to me.I never go straight home after work. I try to go to the park, the beach, the mall, wherever I can, to take advantage of the infinite sunlight that mother summer brings.
I splurge and buy at least one new swimsuit I absolutely love, and I make myself wear it on a special occasion... like, on my birthday, for example.
Now, I get it. I wanna quit multiple times during summer too. And these might not seem like they can solve the problem, but the key is to find those things that can help you enjoy these warm weeks to the fullest, because it can boost your mood for the remaining of the year!
Do you have any summer rituals? Let me know!
